A number of times somebody has tried to fork my obsolete/abandoned work and gave up because it hadn't been maintained and had fallen far out of date. I'm just maintaining my abandoned works so that when somebody inevitably forks them, it should bloody work and have the latest security patches. What they do with it after that isn't my concern.
